As the son of two public educators with a combined eight decades of service to public education in Phillips County, Bagley learned at a very early age the importance of supporting public education and has committed his adult life to promoting it through his professional career as an Instructor at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas and through public service to the Helena-West Helena School District through the Helena-West Helena Booster Club.

Professional Experience

Bagley also held teaching positions in the public schools in Elaine and in Helena-West Helena. He also is a charter member of the faculty of the University of Arkansas System eVersity, where he has developed and taught a U. S. Government and Society course.

Education

After graduating from Barton High School, Bagley graduated magna cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. Bagley subsequently earned a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Baylor University. He also completed additional graduate work from Louisiana State University and Harding University.

Community Service

Bagley has served the Helena-West Helena Booster Club for over a decade as the Secretary of the Board of Directors. Bagley has been the play-by-play Voice of the Cougars for football for twelve years and for basketball for the past five years.

He was honored to serve as president of the Advisory School Board for the Helena-West Helena School District for three and a half years. During that time, he and his fellow board members led the effort to restore community control and increase the financial stability of the school district, which allowed the district to construct the new Eliza Miller Building at the J. F. Wahl Elementary campus.

Since being elected to the school board board in 2016, Bagley played a pivotal role in leading the community to pass a millage for new facilities at Central High School, which are scheduled to open in August, 2019.

Family & Personal Life

Bagley is married to the former Sandra Valley. Together, they have five children and five grandchildren. One child and one grandchild attend the public schools in the Helena-West Helena School District.
